Education Workshops
Every month, My HiFi hosts an education workshop, varying from academic lectures and panels to "how-to" workshops related to historic and cultural preservation and Filipino American Studies. The very first workshop, entitled "Writing and Researching Los Angeles's Filipino American History", featured a panel of writers and academics who have written and researched about various aspects of Filipino American history in Los Angeles.
Future workshops may include a panel on public art in Historic Filipinotown, the history of Filipino American arts and culture in Historic Filipinotown, a writers workshop, a photography workshop, and a series of "how-to" workshops (e.g., how to conduct oral histories, how to host a photo collection day, how to conduct property-related research). If you would like to suggest a workshop topic or collaborate on a workshop, please contact us. Check out our Calendar of Events for more details.
